It's all about the unseen: Your guide after an eclipse (and all the rest...)

10 Apr, 2024The Goddess Collective

By now, you must have undoubtedly heard about the latest events, such as the solar eclipse visible in America, the New Moon, the earthquake in New York, the retrograde phase of Mercury, the comet passing by or the mesmerizing smoke rings blown by the Etna volcano.

Etna volcano

It is an unprecedented time, and we want you to be well-informed.

Don't feel overwhelmed by the numerous pre-eclipse and pre-Mercury guides that you may find online. We understand that it's easy to panik and then forget about them after the events have taken place. That's why we have created this mini-guide to help you stay focused during and after these events. This guide is designed to support you from an hour up to a few weeks after these events have happened.

During moments of uncertainty, it's important to remind ourselves that we will make it through.

It's all about the unseen

The common thread among all these events, from the earthquake to the Etna volcano, from the solar eclipse to the beginning of spring, is the unseen. These events provide us with an opportunity to check in with ourselves and assess where we stand in life. An introspective journey that requires time and effort, and it cannot be reduced to a quick to-do list made in five minutes using Excel.

It's time to face ourselves and bring to light the parts of us that we tend to hide from ourselves. We all have shadows, and that's okay. The negative and positive aspects of ourselves, the yin and the yang, all need to be balanced. It's essential to achieve awareness of these hidden parts, which may remain concealed from the outside world for our entire lives - and that's more thank ok. But we must not hide them from ourselves. We need to know who we are. It is our responsibility to bring our hidden aspects into our light. They are like sprouts that are ready to emerge, like the sun that hides during an eclipse, like a volcano that is rumbling. Sooner or later, they will reveal themselves. The sun will shine again, the flower will bloom, the volcano will erupt. And our shadow will find its way to the surface, whether you want to it or not.

Unlike the sun, we have a choice. We can choose to have these aspects of ourselves under control, or we can choose to ignore them. However, if we ignore them, they will eventually erupt. Even the unseen wants to have the spotlight and be acknowledged, sooner or later. The ugliest part? We probably wouldn't even notice when it will happen! And in this age of social media, they will likely be exposed to everyone.

We must take responsibility for who we are, what we are, and how we are. It's more than okay to embrace our ambiguities and skeletons in the closet. Where there is light, there is also shadow. We just need to be aware of it.

It's all about rebirth

On April 8th, the New Moon created a powerful portal that enabled the Solar Eclipse to intensify its energy. This event represents a shift into a new era of blossoming, but only if the right work has been done first. And the moment is the most propitious, thanks to the New Moon, which helps us to grow, to give us a blank slate on which to manifest our desires, and thanks to Mercury Retrograde, which makes us slow down, giving us the right platform to face everything. And in a few weeks' time, we will be ready to put on an extra gear, if not many more, as predicted in our previous article The first new moon of 2024.

If you are reading this article, you are already on the right track. Keep it up, listen to your intuition and be open to whatever comes along.

Let's walk out there, hand in hand with our lights and our shadows.

Here are three things you can do to make the most of this transformative time:

  1. Question everything: When you have a negative reaction to something you have seen or heard, ask yourself sincerely 'why is this happening? What is it trying to tell me?' Don't focus on what the other person said or did, but turn the question around and ask yourself what is happening to you. You will see how the answers will make you feel better. Sincerity is one of the most beautiful things in life.
  2. Set boundaries: Saying no is fashionable, as is setting boundaries for our mental and physical peace. Do it now, for you.
  3. Get extra support: Some people have an actual diary, others have it in their head. Sometimes writing down your thoughts can be helpful. Whether it is a sentence, an actual diary or a poem, get the information out of yourself, and you will see how your heart will lighten.

It's important to take time for yourself and go through the process of shadow work, even though it can be painful. Remember that you are not alone and at the end of it, you may feel like a new person.
